I realized something about myself over the last two days.  I'd probably have known it if I'd ever given it some thought, but most of the last 48 hours was spent in the studio... and I realized....

I could do this shit every day of my life.

Yesterday, I posted my last vlog before going into the studio.  I included clips from a couple of songs I haven't featured before... one of them is a group favorite that I wrote back in, say, 2002.  The other one's brand new.

For the technically minded, I changed out the 6L6's in my Peavey Triple XXX for KT77's yesterday and had it biased for the new tubes at a local store.  The Triple XXX has interchangeable slots for 6L6's and EL34's, and the 77's seem to be kinda somewhere in between... better headroom than the 6L6s, but darker than the 34's.

The new jams were a hit!  Skrat and Miss B fell right into step with the new songs I took to rehearsal yesterday.  It's a real pleasure to work with such talented people....

We've been working on the songs we have since late February.  For financial reasons, I've had to push the studio booking back and back again, but I'm currently looking hard at mid-September.  We've got to get into the studio with this project... it's drawn out too long, and the songs are going to get stale if we're not ( Read more... )
